For this year's YDOS, Yale Club of Austin and Yale Blue Green are partnering with Fruitful Commons and Onion Creek Park Neighborhood Alliance to develop a regenerative greenspace and orchard in South Austin. Turning climate awareness into climate action, our project will serve the community still recovering from the historic flash floods of 2013 and 2015, which swept away hundreds of homes and claimed the lives of 5 residents. Our Yale volunteer group will add momentum to this noble grassroots effort โ amplifying their mission to bring healing and new life to the area, and developing a greenspace where future generations can gather, rest, and learn.
Alumni and their guests can sign up for any of the 4 activity zones, using the checkboxes below. We have structured the day to be inclusive of Yalies' diverse skills and experiences, as well as their heat tolerance!
-
Outdoor Interactive ๐ฃ๏ธ Canvassing for signatures in support of the greenspace
-

Our Yale Day of Service is dedicated to our former president Ana Mejia Dietche (YC '84), honoring her legacy by delivering local impact through arts, education, and collective care. Whether you're into canvassing, composting, research, or crafting โthereโs a place for you. We encourage Yalies to invite friends and family, the more the merrier in the spirit of community. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
Please RSVP and sign up for your volunteer roles using this survey.
