Once again, Yale Club of Austin and Yale Blue Green are teaming up with our friends at Onion Creek Park Neighborhood Alliance (OCPNA) for an environmental justice service day.
Turning climate awareness into action — we'll come together to serve the community most impacted by the historic flash floods of 2013-2015, working toward the future of this greenspace as a place for people of all ages to rest, gather, and grow.
This year for Yale Day of Service, we're hosting a "working brunch" where we'll collaborate with OCPNA on long-term strategy and funding to revitalize their community greenspace. We'll come together in roundtable fashion to work on the sustainability of OCPNA's efforts to gradually transform this greenspace into a community orchard. This year, we'll focus on Grant-writing, Fundraising, and Outreach.
Our 2026 Yale Day of Service is dedicated to our late president and longtime Austinite Ana Mejia Dietche (YC '84), honoring her legacy of local impact leadership through arts, education, and collective care.
If you're a grant-writer, entreprenuer, environmentalist, or just eager to get involved — there’s a place for you here. We encourage Yalies to invite friends and family, the more the merrier! Last year several folks brought kids and colleagues, it's a great day for bonding through local impact. Refreshments will be served, potluck style.
