Yale Footballs on the 1960s (Book Discussion via Zoom)

Background:

As the Yale Bulldogs prepare to kickoff their 2026 football season on September 19 at The College of the Holy Cross, the Yale Club of South Texas will hold a Zoom meeting on Tuesday, September 15 at 7:00 p.m. To get you ready for the new season, our topic will be a new book, Blue Power: Brian Dowling, Calvin Hill, and Greatness at Yale. Our guests will be Bruce Weinstein, Yale College football ‘69, and author and sports journalist Reg Langsberry. The book describes not only Yale’s epic 1967 and 1968 seasons in which they won 16 games in a row, the longest streak in Division One major college football. We will also discuss the topic’s “cultural window” into what Yale was like during the roiling 1960s under the leadership of president Kingman Brewster.
