The Yale Club of Austin Invites Its Ivy+ Friends to a Friendly Game of Paintball

For anyone who has not tried this sport before, it’s a great way to meet people while getting in some exercise, and it’s lots of fun to play!

Additional Details:

• Please arrive 15 minutes early for orientation.
• Headgear is provided for protection.
• Clothing: Pants and long-sleeved shirts are fine, as are shorts and t-shirts.
• There are restrictions on how close-range one can be, as enforced by course monitors, so it’s not uncomfortable to be hit.
• The paint washes off clothing easily in cold water.
• Depending on how many from each alumni group participate, we may combine schools to make up teams. Be sure to wear your school clothing!
• Teams will consist of 10-15 players each, in round robin format, and later on fields can be combined for larger scenario style games with respawn points.
• There are a large number of fields, each with different setups. Game types can include capture the flag and capture the fort.
• There will be a break after the first several games. There is no specific end time, and players can stay as long as they like.
• People can bring along anything that they would like to eat. The facility sells small snacks for $1.00-$2.00 (trail mix, candy bars, chips, crackers, etc.). It’s $1.00 for bottled water and $2.00 for drinks such as Gatorade and soda.
• There will also be ice water in coolers in all the break areas between games.
• The cost is $25, which includes rifles, protective gear, backpacks and more than enough paintballs to last the day.
• Please sign up as early as possible, so we can give the facility an approximate count and they can plan for an adequate number of course monitors.
• Please send the money to the Yale Club Zelle account (see below), and we will forward funds to Xtreme Paintball.
