Yale Hosted Ivy+ Event: Paintball

The Yale Club of Austin would like to invite you to a game of paintball on Sunday, May 4 at 9:30 a.m.

We held this event in May last year, and everyone had a great time. (One woman came all the way from College Station, and said it was the most fun-looking event she saw anywhere in the country on her school’s calendar.) All were looking forward to playing again.

We played games such as capture the flag, capture the fort, zombie apocalypse, and Mr. President. (President has no gun, but gets 3 Secret Service agents; goal is to get the President to the opposite side of the field without being shot.)

The cost is only $25 per person, which includes gun, goggles, all-day air, 100 rounds of paintballs and some extra paintballs we'll buy in advance for all to use.

Further Details:

• Orientation is at 9:30 a.m.
• Full headgear is provided for protection. For complete safety, headgear must be in place before entering the play areas.
• Clothing: Pants and long-sleeved shirts are fine, as are shorts & t-shirts. For greatest comfort, I recommend a light long-sleeve t-shirt and light sweats.
• There are restrictions on how close-range one can be, before firing, as enforced by course monitors.
• The paint washes off clothing easily in cold water.
• Depending on how many from each alumni group participate, we may combine schools to make up teams. Be sure to wear your school clothing!
• There are several fields, each with different set-ups.
• Teams will consist of 10-15 players each, in round robin format. Fields can be combined for larger scenario style games with respawn areas (i.e., possibility of coming back from the dead).
• There will be a break after the first several games. There is no specific end time, and players can stay as long as they like.
• People can bring along anything that they would like to eat. The facility sells small snacks for $1.00-$2.00 (trail mix, candy bars, chips, crackers, etc.). It’s $1.00 for bottled water and $2.00 for drinks such as Gatorade and soda.
• There will also be ice water in coolers in all the break areas between games.
